NEXCO東日本は、2026年8月7日から16日までのお盆期間における高速道路の交通状況を公表しました。
夏休みやお盆などには、多くの方が自動車で移動します。宮城県は、東北自動車道を南北の大動脈として、常磐自動車道、仙台東部道路、三陸沿岸道路、山形自動車道、東北中央自動車道などの高速道路網が充実しています。
そのため、仙台市中心部、仙台港、村田町、川崎町、蔵王・遠刈田温泉、白石市などに点在するGAIA Resortの宿泊拠点間を移動しやすく、県内の観光地を組み合わせた周遊旅行を楽しめます。
NEXCO East has released a preliminary report on expressway traffic conditions during Japan’s Obon holiday period from August 7 to 16, 2026.
Many people travel by car during the summer holidays and Obon season. Miyagi Prefecture has an extensive expressway network, including the Tohoku Expressway as its main north–south artery, as well as the Joban Expressway, Sendai-Tobu Road, Sanriku Coastal Road, Yamagata Expressway and Tohoku-Chuo Expressway.
This network makes it easy to travel between GAIA Resort properties located throughout central Sendai, Sendai Port, Murata, Kawasaki, Zao and Togatta Onsen, and Shiroishi. Visitors can combine accommodation and sightseeing in several areas to create their own road trip through Miyagi.

これらの地域は離れているように見えますが、高速道路や自動車専用道路を活用することで、比較的スムーズに移動できます。
仙台市中心部から仙台港へ向かい、村田町や川崎町を経由して蔵王・遠刈田温泉へ。さらに白石市へと足を延ばすなど、複数の地域を一つの旅行ルートとして組み立てられます。
目的地へ向かう途中で、地域の飲食店や農産物直売所、温泉、歴史的な町並み、自然景勝地へ立ち寄れることも、自動車旅行ならではの魅力です。
Miyagi offers a variety of landscapes and experiences, including vibrant cities, coastal areas, hot springs, mountains, historic castle towns, rural communities and agricultural villages.
Although these destinations are spread across the prefecture, Miyagi’s expressways and limited-access roads make travel between them relatively easy.
Visitors can travel from central Sendai to Sendai Port, continue through Murata and Kawasaki, stay in Zao or Togatta Onsen, and then extend their journey to Shiroishi.
Travelling by car also provides opportunities to stop at local restaurants, farmers’ markets, hot springs, historic townscapes and scenic natural attractions along the way. The journey itself becomes an important part of the travel experience.

村田町エリア
Murata Area
村田町は、東北自動車道の村田ICと山形自動車道の村田JCTを有する交通の結節点です。

Murata is an important transport junction, with Murata Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway and Murata Junction connecting to the Yamagata Expressway.
It offers convenient access to Sendai, Kawasaki, Zao and Shiroishi. Visitors can enjoy Murata’s historic merchant townscape while using the area as a base for exploring southern Miyagi.
川崎町エリア
Kawasaki Area
川崎町には山形自動車道の宮城川崎ICがあり、仙台、秋保、村田、蔵王方面への移動に便利です。
「Variety road 別邸幻島」などを拠点に、豊かな自然や里山の風景を楽しみながら、周辺地域へ足を延ばせます。
Kawasaki is served by Miyagi-Kawasaki Interchange on the Yamagata Expressway, providing convenient access to Sendai, Akiu, Murata and Zao.

The Zao and Togatta Onsen area can be accessed from several directions via Murata, Miyagi-Kawasaki and Shiroishi interchanges.

白石市は東北自動車道の白石ICに加え、東北新幹線の白石蔵王駅も利用できます。

Shiroishi is accessible by both Shiroishi Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway and Shiroishizao Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen.
Guests can stay at Michi near Shiroishizao Station, visit Shiroishi Castle and the historic castle town, and continue their journey to Zao, Togatta Onsen, Murata or Kawasaki.
