【周辺イベント情報】歴史ある街道を歩く「わらじで歩こう七ヶ宿」

宮城県七ヶ宿町で、夏の恒例イベント「第38回 わらじで歩こう七ヶ宿」が2026年8月30日（日）に開催されます。
七ヶ宿町は山形県・福島県に隣接する宮城県南の町。かつて参勤交代や旅人、商人などに利用された「山中七ヶ宿街道」を、わらじを履いて約12km歩く歴史体験イベントです。
道中では、江戸時代の関所や茶屋を再現した余興も楽しみながら、夏の川の音や山あいの風景を感じて、のんびりと七ヶ宿を歩きます。

前夜祭「七ヶ宿火まつり」も
前日の8月29日（土）には、「七ヶ宿火まつり」が開催されます。
山伏による東北最大級の採燈大護摩供や、間近で楽しめる迫力ある花火大会、地場産品を使った出店などが並び、翌日の「わらじで歩こう七ヶ宿」の旅の安全を祈願します。

夏の夜には火まつり、翌朝には歴史街道を歩く。
2日間を通じて、七ヶ宿ならではの歴史、文化、自然を存分に体験できます。

English｜Walk the Historic Shichikashuku Route
The 38th “Waraji de Arukou Shichikashuku” will be held in Shichikashuku Town on August 30, 2026.
Participants walk approximately 12 km along the historic Yamanaka Shichikashuku Kaido, once used by travelers, merchants, and feudal processions.
Along the route, visitors can experience recreated Edo-period checkpoints and tea houses while enjoying the sound of rivers and the natural landscape of southern Miyagi.
Shichikashuku is located within easy reach of GAIA Resort properties in the Zao and Shiroishi areas, making it an excellent day-trip destination during your stay.

On the evening before the walk, the Shichikashuku Fire Festival will also be held on August 29, featuring a large-scale traditional goma fire ritual, fireworks, and local food stalls.
